Milton sits between the Neponset River and the Blue Hills, just south of Boston. The Blue Hills Reservation covers much of the southern part of town, and the trail up Great Blue Hill, at more than 600 feet, leads to the stone Eliot Tower, with views to the Boston skyline. Houghton’s Pond, at the foot of the hills, has a path around the water. Along the town’s northern edge, the Neponset River Reservation follows the river.
