North Conway, New Hampshire fall foliage

North Conway sits in the Mount Washington Valley along the Saco River, with Cathedral Ledge and White Horse Ledge rising just west of the village. A short road and hiking trails lead to the top of Cathedral Ledge, where the view looks east across the Saco River valley to the White Mountains. Below the ledges, Echo Lake has an easy one-mile trail around the shore with views up to both cliffs. Nearby off West Side Road, Diana’s Baths is an easy half-mile walk to a series of granite cascades.

Conway is the eastern end of the Kancamagus Highway, which runs 34.5 miles west through the White Mountain National Forest to Lincoln, past the Albany Covered Bridge, Rocky Gorge, Sabbaday Falls, and a string of overlooks near Kancamagus Pass. For a second drive, follow Route 302 west from Glen through Bartlett into Crawford Notch State Park, where Silver Cascade and Flume Cascade tumble down right beside the road, and Arethusa Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in New Hampshire, is a hike from the road.
